What Does a Councillor Actually Do?
The Town of Oakville is governed by a Mayor and 14 Councillors — two representing each of the seven wards. Together they form the legislative body of the municipality, setting policy, approving budgets, and making decisions that affect every resident.
A councillor's work happens both inside the Council chamber and out in the community — attending meetings, reviewing reports, responding to residents, and advocating for the ward's needs at every level of local government.
