Personal Story
My Story
Zulfi Malik has proudly called Ward 7 home for more than a decade. He moved to Oakville in 2014, drawn to the qualities that make this community such a wonderful place to live — safe neighbourhoods, excellent schools, beautiful surroundings, and a strong sense of community. Over the years, Oakville has become much more than a place to live; it has become home. Zulfi is proud to have raised his two children here and to have watched them build successful careers — one as a doctor and the other as an IT professional. He believes in giving back to the community that has given his family so much — and is ready to put his experience, energy, and commitment to work for the residents of Ward 7.
He is a university graduate in Business and Commerce, and his professional journey has taken him through some of the most respected financial institutions in the world. He began his career with Citibank, followed by experience with a development financial institution and TD Waterhouse, one of Canada's leading investment firms. These experiences gave him a strong foundation in finance, investment, risk management, customer service, and responsible financial decision-making. He later became an entrepreneur, building successful businesses in multiple ventures. For more than 20 years, He also worked as an award-winning Real Estate Broker, helping families, investors, and businesses make some of their most important financial decisions.

International Charitable Work
Solely financing the establishment of a school to provide free education to underprivileged children in an underdeveloped country, and built a water filtration plant to deliver clean drinking water to communities in need.
Local Neighbour Support
Helped neighbours directly with everyday needs — clearing snow, cutting grass, and offering practical advice on how to maintain and improve their properties.
Business Community
Worked alongside local business owners to understand the challenges facing Ward 7's commercial corridors and advocate for a supportive municipal environment.

Zulfi brings a strong professional background to his candidacy. His career has spanned roles in community development, stakeholder engagement, and organizational leadership — experience that translates directly to the work of a municipal councillor.
He understands how to navigate complex institutions, build consensus among diverse groups, and deliver results for the people he serves. These skills are exactly what Ward 7 needs at Town Hall.
My Commitment
Why I'm Running
Ward 7 is a wonderful community — but it deserves better representation. Too often, residents feel unheard, infrastructure issues go unaddressed, and decisions are made without meaningful input from the people most affected.
My decision to run stems directly from what I see in our neighbourhood every day. The current incumbent has allowed Ward 7 to be neglected — maintenance has slipped, concerns have gone unanswered, and the area's appeal has suffered as a result. This neglect is not just an inconvenience; it is quietly eroding the value of our properties and the quality of life we have worked hard to build.
I'm running because I believe Ward 7 residents deserve a councillor who is accessible, accountable, and genuinely committed to their quality of life. Someone who shows up — not just at election time, but every single day.
